I’m horrible with names, and i find it very embarrassing sometimes. People are in love with their names, and making a conversation to them without using their name is not much of a conversation at all.

I’ve learned that in order to remember peoples’ names I need to know one or two facts about them. About their pets, family, their little funny habits, likes, dislikes, or hobbies. It doesn’t have to be a complete information download; just one or two little crumbs of information would help me remember their name much easier next time.

Perhaps because I get few more brain cells involved in the process, and bits of information have a higher chance of survival in my brain

It works! try it …

huh! School Teachers are finally learning how to use computers. Working in the Education industry I know how challenging it could be to develop web applications for teachers who are no so comfortable with technology.

Traditionally teachers just didn’t have the right attitude towards computers. For them it was more like an expensive typewriter, yet students looked at it as a new playground and they have become so darn good at making computers a part of their lives.

I remember the time I was a student in Capilano College, nobody was allowed to use the library computers to check their emails, or they had to face the angry library lady who would try to convince them Computers are research tools, not toys. I think teachers are catching up because they don’t want to stay behind the students. My advice to all the eLearning developers. Start from the students, school teachers and principals will follow :)

After a one week vacation, today was pretty difficult to get to work. After I took off, my mother called and invited me for dinner. I went for a run afterwards. Boy, days are shorter now; at 9 o’clock it was completely dark and kind of chilled. Ocean was beautiful though, and Lion’s Gate looked lovely and graceful as usual. There seemed to be more people out tonight ( and more lovers too ).

I am done with schooling, but for some strange reason I still get that weird feeling when September approaches. Am I going to feel the same each time for the rest of my life?

Honestly I kindda miss school sometimes. The times that I’d get to the cafeteria in khakis and hoodies, chat with the girls; complain about my profs, and how life sucks at school ( No it doesn’t !!! ).

I dropped by at the local starbucks. There were some 18 year old girls sitting on the couches. From their conversations it was apparent that soon they will be moving away from Mommy and Daddies home to live on university dorms. Those strange back to school feelings slowly rush in again.

Summer has officially ended now. Yesterday morning I could feel the fall wind on my face when I went to the Ambleside for a walk, but it got nice and sunny afterwards. Perhaps I should put a positive spin on it; the over cast skies provide the perfect light for street photography. Something to think about for next week.

Bye bye summer

Today is the last day of my 1 week vacation, and I must admit it has been a productive week. The second half of my vacation will start next week on Sept 6th.

Today I’ll be going for a nice walk, stop at the local coffee shop for a nice latte, then I have to go for this week’s grocery shopping. I have to eat you know! I really like to free up some time for this afternoon so I can pick up my laptop go down to South Granville street, and get some work done while I’m watching all the beautiful people passing by :)

Well … Hello World! I guess :)
This is my very first post on this freshly installed blog. There is not much here yet, but there will be lots! And one more thing WordPress is a toy compare to Mambo CMS; maybe that’s why it is so popular.
