The major project that I am working on right now is the new Corporate website for Premier Agendas company. What makes this project challenging and interesting is the load of Information Design , and Data Modeling that goes into the eCatalog and the over all Content Management System. It’s been more than two month now that I’ve spend about half of my time conducting interviews, email, phone, around table meetings with people in Sales, Marketing, Product Development and Technology Solutions departments. Then I spent days of work on Pattern Analysis of Premier Products and Marketing data and creating IA Garrett, Entity Relationship and, UML diagrams. I didn’t try to memorize and learn every single product that Premier is selling, instead I tried to find the pattern that they have been evolving throughout the histroy of Premier, and the relationship that groups of products initiate with every Marketing Approach ( Product Lines, Market Segements, Programs, … ).
And for the implementation step the last few weeks has been spent on crazy hours of Programming at the Premier office, at home, and in my studio.
Other challenges involved are that everyone needs to be happy with the final web application. To increase my chance of success I’ve spend some time collecting data, and examples to back up my design solutions for every problem. At every step I have judged myself based on common sense before they do it.
My last Project Premier Go eLearning has recieved a relatively low number of customer complains, and everybody seems pretty happy with it. I will be too once this academic season is over and everything has gone through nice and smoothly.
All of that could be stressful, I feel responsible for the work I deliver, I want it to be functional, intelligent, and beautiful. I believe all the stress and hard work that I put in my creations will translate into a stronger sense of joy and pride in the end. I want people after me to remember my name and my work and be pleased with the results.
