Montreal Montreal Montreal Suite 701 - Montreal Suite 701 - Montreal

Here are some higher res images from my trip to Montreal Last year. I still remember Synthia and Veronica the 2 brunettes who were serving food and wine at Suite 701. Synthia wouldn’t say much when I was thanking her bringing in my food and wine, she would simply respond “Pleasure!” . Veronica would’ve asked me if I liked the food, and I’d respond “Oh! … It’s heavenly”, then she would nod with a big smile and say, “Good! … Heavenly is Good!”

Oh I miss Montreal!

Seamless Object Oriented Design

This is a small snapshot of a larger UML blueprint. I have spent the last month implementing a customized user management system in Joomla 1.5 which will eventually be used in an eLearning application.

Software is using a Model View Control (MVC) architecture. The trick was using Joomla’s API to create Model classes in conjuction with Table classes. I don’t like duct-taping, I wanted a seamless integration of table classes with the Model class.
It finally worked and with the method I discovered, development process is going much faster based on a consistent pattern.

Every Table class contains the following main functions:

  • bind
  • get
  • set
  • load
  • store
  • delete

Every Model class also contains the same set of functions. Table Objects are aggregated in a Model class. A table class contains basic operations of a specific table in the database. A Model class contains operations needed to be done on a group of tables.
Doing a simple design usually takes more time but the results are rewarding.

Do I make any Sense?

This weekend I received a wonderful package from Dawn. She has released her first Jazz CD, and it is beautiful.

Tinge of Tangerine Tinge of Tangerine

I met Dawn back in 2001 in Prince George when I was a university student. That year I participated in a Technology Trade show called IDEAWorks, and Dawn was in the booth next to me. That night my project won the first prize and Dawn, being a great writer that she was, had been assigned to write an article about me.

Then I realized Dawn’s passion for Jazz music. She could sing and play the piano beautifully. later on I have been joining most of her concerts and photographing her on stage while she was performing her magic. It was the best thing ever for me since I was a big city guy stuck in a small town called Prince George and had a hard time relating to people.

Later on when I made more friends, I would often take them all to Dawn’s Jazz concerts. She also introduced me to the Judy Russell’s Enchaînement Dance Centre where I could be a part of a reproduction of Chicago Musical, you can see some of those images on my Dance and Drama set. With no compromise I must say, Dawn brought Jazz to Prince George; something that I once thought would be impossible.

Thank you Dawn for the precious gift, I wish you and your wonderful family all the best.

Your type is the Glamourina

Looking for a girl you can spoil? Buy a fab new suit and go for the Glamourina — she’ll appreciate every chivalrous gesture and expensive bling you shower upon her. She adores gourmet dinners and prefers to have a first-class lifestyle. Okay, so perhaps she can be high-maintenance at times, but just being around her will make you feel like the world revolves around you. Witty and sophisticated, she always lights up a room. Count on her to know the hottest spots to eat, drink, and be merry - and of course, you’ll never have to wait in a queue to get in. She’s knows “everyone”. Her refined manner, polished appearance, and classy style keep you coming back for more. Your princess will be the envy of all your mates. With her on your arm, you’ll see Prince Charming grinning back at you every time you look in the mirror.

True, but Tickle is pushing it too far. I am willing to compromise. Besides it doesn’t mention qualities such as intelligence, honesty, loyalty, creativity, artistic personality, and off beat sense of humor that I look for in a lady. Am I asking for too much I wonder!
