We had a small get together with all the techvibes forum posters, first at Rugby Club on West Broadway Vancouver. we had such a fun time together:

First time at Rugby Beach Club Grille ( West Broadway, Vancouver )There were about 10-12 of us, all people in the High Tech industry and we were told that we have to leave by 9:30, food was good yet no better than Earls or Cactus Club. Waiters were bossy and arrogant, Martini’s were watered down, and in the end we found surprises on our bills: items that we never had. Well we worked it out and guess what I didn’t tip!

BUT! I had a great time regardless being with all my friends.

I’m sure there are plenty of other restaurants and pubs in Vancouver who’d love to get business specially the well spenders from Vancouver’s Hight Tech Sector.

After 9:00 we went to the Frog and Firkin pub, and spend the rest of the evening there. I ordered a Shirley Temple for drink since I was the designated driver. Bad idea … ! I got laughed at; on the bill it said “Orange Juice” I guess the cute waitress was trying save my grace this time.

Anna is IKEA’s online virtual shopping assistant. I tried asking her out on a date; here is our conversation:

Me: hi would you go out on a date with me?
Anna: I’m not real. I’m an Online Assistant designed to help you with your queries about IKEA, so I can’t go out. But thanks…

Me: C’mon! do you like chocolate, I want to bring you some chocolate.
Anna: The best thing to do is to get something to eat. In every IKEA store you can get a delicious snack in our restaurant.

Me: Was that a yes?
Anna: You’re trying to ask me a question, but I need more than that to give you a proper answer. Please try again.

Me: ahhhh …. women
Anna: Well, if it’s no, its no. I am still here to answer your questions.

She is so realistic in many ways!

Every thursday from 7:00 PM these cats get together for swing dance on Showboat stage in Kitsilano Beach Vancouver. Apparently this has been happening every summer for the last 7 years or so. Very fun and friendly crowd I must say I wish they could have done it more often every week. I am still learning how to dance myself, oh man you should see those people in motion. I am planning to take more pictures at the Showboat everyweek so this photoset will be growing.

The lady in black top and red skirt in this picture is my sweetheart Teresa. We have been dating for the last 1.5 month. She has been dancing and teaching swing dance for the last 7+ years.

It’s been over a month now that I am using Flickr for managing my photographs. I’ve had 5000+ views already. I think that’s not bad for the start. The most popular one is the image of the two transvestites which has been viewed 358 times so far!

I am surprised to see even some of the works that I don’t particularly find interesting such as the wine glasses have been bookmarked by my visitors.

My new friend Lisa has this really incredible website ( Fashion Templates ) about Fashion Illustration, templates and Fashion in general. It is a great little spot on the web for purchasing fashion templates, learning about drawing, and rendering tips, and there are some really good works from other fashion illustrators displayed there. It’s so wonderful that she has seen my practice sketches good enough to be showcased, although I wish I could be as good as Eduard Erlikh on the same page.
