The day after christmas
We’ve had the best Christmas dinner last night with a group of really friendly Irish folks. Roasted Free range Turkey, Plum pudding, lots of wine, mashed potato, cranberry sauce, and more wine. I had a bit of trouble going to sleep with all that wine in my system.
We took the dogs out for a walk in the woods this morning, I was hoping that it could trim some of the calories that gained the night before. We also did a second round along the beach few hours ago. Weather is chilled, but the ocean is overwhelmingly calm today. Birds are playing on the water and we spotted a seal too.
I am drinking a glass of sherry and trying to install Ruby and Rails on my Powerbook; I figured holidays would be a good time to learn a little more about this technology which is supposed to be the best thing since mini skirts.

Wild stormy day in Comox
I finally got a chance to get some good sleep last night. Unlike yesterday which was all sunny and beautiful, today it is wild and stormy outside. I must say it looks so beautiful, I feel like I am in a glass box warm and cozy right in the middle of a stormy ocean.
We had waffles and coffee for breakfast; the two large poodle dogs Lazo and Augusta were really excited to see me this morning, what adorable creatures.
My Girlfriend’s family ( Joan, David, and her brother Eric ) are wonderful people. Joan is a sweetheart and such a wonderful cook, David has a great sense of humor and loves wine, Eric is calm and quite playing with his new Cannon point and shoot digital camera.
I’m glad I brought my laptop here. Yesterday we picked up a wireless router for about 40 $ Canadian so I could have wireless access around the house. what a great deal!

Big Giant Oysters
I am in Comox on Vancouver Island right now. I came to spend the Christmas with my Girlfriend’s family. They live in a beautiful house right on the beach. They have two dogs Lazo, and Augusta. It was sunny and beautiful today; we went for a walk on the beach and found some oysters sitting on the sand in the shadows of a very large rock. They were half buried in the sand and chilled. We picked them up and brought them home, they were huge oysters, I hadn’t seen oysters this large before in my life.
Teresa’s mom breaded and fried them, we had them with Tabasco sauce and lemon juice they were delicious!
I’ve also had too much wine and don’t think if I am doing a good job writing

2007 business forcast

This is not how exactly I run a business, but sure I can appreciate the coincidence. This is what you get when you eat at a low budget chinese restaurant, I got a healthy dose of MSG in my blood enough to knock out an elephant, I can still feel the buzz. Don’t ask me how I ended up eating there. It wasn’t about nutrition; it was peer pressure, some kind of group ritual.

Working from home

I work from home most days of the week. I prefer to work at the kitchen table because the view to outside is much better and I am closer to my speakers so I can listen to music and podcasts during the work hours.
It takes a lot of discipline specially that fridge is approximately 10 feet away from me, or I could easily overdose on coffee.

Life in our own image
My girlfriend emailed this quote to me:
“I think computer viruses should count as life. I think it says something about human nature that the only form of life we have created so far is purely destructive. We’ve created life in our own image.” - Stephen Hawking
