Trevi Fountain - Roma, Italia

Last summer I was in Rome, standing at the Trevi Fountain which is supposed to be the world’s Wishing Fountain. At the time I was working for a large corporation as a Web Application Architect, and I was taking that vacation after a 6 month of working on a pet project. That was 10 hour work days including the weekends. No I didn’t get paid for the overtime hours. I was exhausted, frustrated and unhappy.

One of my 3 wishes was that someday I become self employed; to become the President of my own company. My other wish was, OF COURSE to go back to Rome again! and the third wish remains to be a secret.

Few month after, one of my wishes has been granted. I started my own Software Company, and shortly after started a second company with a wonderful Partner. Goodbye corporate world!

Now life is so beautiful. No more long commutes, no more corporate monkey business. It is no longer the 4 letter word “WORK”, it is now “Play”, “Play”, and more “Play”.

Now It is about my ideas, my opinion, my vote. It is now collaboration, communication, picking and choosing clients that are happy to work with me, or else Good Bye, and so long. That means flexible hours, weekends, more downtown trips, more photography, more drawing, more book reading, and basically having a life.

Summer of 2008 I will be going back to Rome. Here I am releasing that wish to the Universe once again!
