Work
Working from Bean Around The World, West Vancouver
I am sitting the in Bean Around the World, on Marine Drive, West Vancouver. We seem to be getting a little bit of summery days during the first few weeks of Fall, and I think it would be such a waste if I stay in my studio. Here I can tune out, and tune in to get some writing done. Bean Around the World, sells very good coffee, which is roasted right here on the North shore. It is far superior to Starbucks coffee ( any coffee is ) in terms of taste, color, aroma and flavor. Bean coffee is the best place to be early in the morning, the place is packed with people, staff are so friendly and laid back. I hardly ever seen an unhappy face on the people working here.
I often try not to anchor here with my laptop and use this spot as my work space. These guys get a lot of walking traffic and it wouldn’t be fair to occupy their seats, although the traffic seems to be a bit slower around afternoon, so I think it should be fine if I spend a couple of hours here to switch on my creative side, get some work done, while I do some people watching.

A moment of peace, baby blue ocean, and hell I want a cup of coffee
For the first time I am actually enjoying working in absolute silence. I am sitting in my office and I hear nothing but an occasional car passing by in the back alley. Amble Side beach ocean looks calm, blue and peaceful from my window, and I am slowly going through my to-do list for the day.
Every line that I cross out gives me a pinch sense of accomplishment. Juggling multiple projects for the past 6 weeks, I could really appreciate a moment of peace like this, which reminds me I could do with a nice cup of coffee and a granola bar from Capers. Hell it’s already 12:23 and lunch time!
Get inspired, have some more options
We feel down when think we have no more options ahead of us. No options means no hope for the future, it goes against the very basic meaning of life. It means death. That’s what leads people to become suicidal, because they don’t see any more options, they are unable to see them, or they are unable to create more of them.
Every moment of our lives could be the starting point to many opportunities out there. We all feel down from time to time. I do too, and when that happens I start looking for new options. A healthy portion of my life is dedicated to seeking and creating more options. Then I decide which path to take. After all, what we become in the future is the result of decisions we make today.
Creating options requires inspiration. Learning to be inspired and stay inspired takes practice. It is a skill that can be learned, and I am getting better at it everyday. What makes us inspired could vary from person to person.
I seek inspiration from People. Those who are my friends and those who aren’t my friends yet. When I draw, photograph, start a software development project, read a book in a coffee shop they all somehow have the human factor in common. People come in all shapes and forms. Their personalities are drastically diverse. They are either so intelligent or infinitely stupid and ignorant. As humans we are not perfect, but we can be very courageous. That makes us worthy of becoming sources of inspiration.
